Protein Domain : Type 1 encapsulin shell protein IPR007544

Type  Family
Description  This protein family includes Type 1 encapsulin shell proteins found in prokaryotes. These proteins form nanocompartments within the bacterium which contain ferritin-like proteins or peroxidases, enzymes involved in oxidative-stress response. These enzymes are targeted to the interior of encapsulins via unique C-terminal extensions [ ].
