Cicer data from the Legume Information System
| Type | Family |
| Description | This family includes LarE, one of three accessory proteins (the others being LarB and LarC) present in the lactate racemization operon larA-E. LarA is a nickel-dependent lactate racemase, and the accessory proteins are required for the incorporation of Ni in the lactate racemase apoprotein [ ]. The accessory proteins LarB, LarC, and LarE are widely distributed in microorganisms. Among them, LarC and LarE have been found to be Ni-containing proteins []. In Lactobacillus plantarum, LarE catalyzes the ATP-dependent incorporation of two sulfur atoms in pyridinium-3,5-biscarboxylic acid mononucleotide (P2CMN) to yield pyridinium-3,5-bisthiocarboxylic acid mononucleotide (P2TMN) [ ]. |
