Cicer data from the Legume Information System
| Type | Family |
| Description | This family includes group B of Fasciclin-like arabinogalactan proteins (FLAs) from Arabidopsis, which includes FLA 15, 16, 17, 18 [ ]. They are expressed throughout plant development. FLAs are extracellular glycoproteins containing the Fascilin 1 (FAS1) domains and glycomotif regions, thought to play structural and signalling functions through a wide range of interactions in the plant extracellular matrix [, ]. Group B of FLAs contains two FAS1 domains (fasciclin domain types R-H), not predicted to be GPI-anchored, and its domain architecture is one of the most stable throughout plant evolution. FLA16 is group B most highly expressed FLA in the stem and it is predominantly found in inflorescence tissues, including the stem, branch, flower and silique. It plays a role in plant secondary cell wall synthesis and function [ ]. |
