Human TFIIE consists of two subunits, TFIIE-alpha and TFIIE-beta, and joins the preinitiation complex after RNA polymerase II and TFIIF [ ]. This entry represents a helix-turn-helix (HTH) domain found in eukaryotic TFIIE-alpha []. It is also found in proteins from archaebacteria that are presumed to be TFIIE-alpha subunits [], the transcriptional regulator SarR, and also DNA-directed RNA polymerase III subunit Rpc3. |
